The Belize Coast Guard is Belize’s premier Maritime Law Enforcement Agency
We are part of the Ministry of Defence and Border security team and are at all times a military service and part of our joint forces defending it.
For over 20 years, Belizeans have relied on the Coast Guard’s critical missions and unique capabilities to safeguard our national security and support economic prosperity.
With a fleet of boats and air assets, and nearly 1,000 military personnel and civilian staff, we carry out vital operations every day:
- Secure Belize’s borders and maritime approaches
- Protect our ports and waterways
- Conduct military operations in defense of the nation
- Save lives through search and rescue missions
- Enforce national laws
- Lead emergency response efforts
- Maintain the flow of maritime commerce to sustain economic growth
