Belize Coast Guard Officer To Train At Taiwan Naval Academy

The Ambassador of the Republic of China (Taiwan) to Belize His Excellency Remus Chen congratulated Officer Cadet Tyler Reyes for being accepted into the Taiwan Naval Academy. Officer Cadet Reyes is the first Coast Guard officer that will be trained in the Republic of China (Taiwan) . He is scheduled to depart on February 2020 for a four and a half year study at the Taiwan Naval Academy in Zuoying District, Kaohsiung, Taiwan. During his course of study he will undergo a combination of academic programs and military studies that will prepare him for professional military service in the Belize Coast Guard.

This initiative is a part of a broader Defence engagement program with the Republic of China (Taiwan) Ministry of National Defence and the Ministry of National Security of Belize that incorporates training and acquisition of equipment.
