The Joint Readiness Training Center (JRTC) at Fort Polk Alexandria, Louisiana recently hosted a military contingent of one hundred and forty four service personnel from the Belize Coast Guard and the Belize Defence Force for a three weeks training exercise aimed at enhancing the sailors and soldiers skill sets in tactical maneuvers, operation planning, IPB, intelligence gathering, reconnaissance, patrolling tactics, psyops and communications. Throughout the battle rhythm rotations members of the BCG and BDF, executed troop leading procedures, maneuver operations, sustainment and resupply and thorough rehearsals.
The JRTC is a premier combat training facility for the United States Army in preparing soldiers for the operating environment. Their motto “Forging the Warrior Spirit” is the core component in building combat readiness and capacity.
This initiative was a result of the collaboration and partnership between the Louisiana National Guard and the Ministry of National Defence and Border Security.
Sailors and soldiers were given the opportunity to train alongside their American counterparts who provided mentorship and guidance on how to conduct a range of military missions.
